+The **Botanical Lexicon** is a guide book item added by the [[Gardening|Gardening]] Add-On. It serves as a central reference for all plants in the game, keeping track of which ones a player has discovered and providing detailed information about them.

+## Functionality

+- Records **all plants in the game**, including vanilla plants, those added by the [[Gardening|Gardening]] Add-On, and plants from **third-party Add-Ons** if they support compatibility.

+- Tracks which plants the player has **found so far** and which are still undiscovered.

+- Displays **when and where** each plant was discovered in the world.

+- Provides completion progress, showing how many plants have been collected out of the total available.

+## Mechanics

+- All plants in the Gardening Add-On can be **[bone-mealed](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Bone_Meal)**, allowing them to grow and drop another of their kind.

+- The Lexicon acts as a **documentation system**, letting players view plant details even after they’ve been collected.

+When a new world is generated with the Gardening Add-On enabled, **players will automatically spawn with one Botanical Lexicon**.
