In the Archaeology Add-On, the Pile of Bones is the primary excavation find. These piles appear during digs and contain the raw fragments of ancient remains. When excavated, they yield unidentified bones, which can later be cleaned, identified, and used to reconstruct skeletons of various creatures.

Obtaining
Piles of Bones are discovered through excavation using chiseling and brushing mechanics. When broken with the correct tools, they drop unidentified bones. These bones must then be processed in the Washing Station and examined in the Identification Table to determine their exact type.

Usage
The Pile of Bones itself cannot be crafted or placed once broken. Its purpose is to provide the starting point for bone collection. Bones obtained from piles can be:

* Washed in a Washing Station to prepare them for identification.
* Identified at an Identification Table to learn which specific bone type was found.
* Assembled at an Assembly Table to build complete skeletons.
