History: Fuel Tender

 

 The Fuel Tender is a lightweight support car introduced in version v1.0.1 of [[Trains|TRAINS]]. It carries five times as much fuel as a diesel locomotive and automatically refuels any diesel engine directly in front of it. In the [[Trains Urban Update|Urban Update]] it received a height adjustment so it visually matches the newer diesel locomotives.

  

 ## Functionality

 When placed directly behind a [[Diesel Engine (Locomotive)|Front-cab Diesel Engine]] or a [[Mid-Cab Diesel Engine (Locomotive)|Mid-cab Diesel Engine]], the Fuel Tender continuously supplies fuel to the locomotive, enabling long-distance travel without manual refilling. The tender is filled by using a [[Fuel Bucket|Diesel Fuel Bucket]] on it, and it holds five times the fuel capacity of a diesel engine. Once filled, it automatically transfers fuel to the locomotive as the train moves. The car has a weight of 'one half', making it lighter than most rolling stock and suitable for any consist.

  

 The Fuel Tender can also be dyed with any of the sixteen Minecraft colours.

  

 ## Interaction

 Players can couple the Fuel Tender behind any diesel locomotive to enable automatic refuelling. The tender’s internal storage provides fuel directly to the engine as it moves.

 It was updated in the Urban Update to increase its height for improved visual alignment with the updated diesel locomotives.
