Botanical Lexicon

The Botanical Lexicon is a guide book item added by the Gardening Add-On. It serves as a central reference for all plants in the game, keeping track of which ones a player has discovered and providing detailed information about them.

Functionality

• Records all plants in the game, including vanilla plants, those added by the Gardening Add-On, and plants from third-party Add-Ons if they support compatibility.
• Tracks which plants the player has found so far and which are still undiscovered.
• Displays when and where each plant was discovered in the world.

• Provides completion progress, showing how many plants have been collected out of the total available.

Mechanics

• All plants in the Gardening Add-On can be bone-mealed, allowing them to grow and drop another of their kind.
• The Lexicon acts as a documentation system, letting players view plant details even after they’ve been collected.

• The system is expandable: other Add-On creators can integrate their own plants into the Lexicon, though this requires them to enable the capability.

Obtaining

Starting Item

When a new world is generated with the Gardening Add-On enabled, players will automatically spawn with one Botanical Lexicon.

Crafting

If a player loses their Botanical Lexicon, they can craft a new one by combining 1 Book, 1 Dandelion. This recipe yields one Botanical Lexicon.
