Chime Marker Interface

The Chime Marker is a configurable signalling block introduced in the Urban Update. Placed directly beneath straight rails, it plays a chime and can send an announcement whenever the train passes over it. It is ideal for station arrivals, tourist railway narration, themed lines, or automated route announcements.

Functionality

The Chime Marker detects specific parts of the train and triggers based on the chosen mode, functioning similar to the Horn Marker. It can activate when the first car passes, the last car passes, either end of the train, or when any engine goes over it. The block may play a wide variety of custom chime sounds, optionally paired with a selectable instrument.

It can also send a message in any colour. Leaving the message field empty disables announcements.

Observers can detect when the marker triggers, and redstone power can activate it for testing.

Interaction

Players can interact with the Chime Marker to open its configuration menu. Here they can set the trigger mode, choose the chime sound, select the instrument, enter an announcement message, and choose the colour of that message. The block works automatically whenever the train passes once configured.

Crafting

Place iron ingots in the top left and top right with the observer in the top middle. Put note blocks on the left and right of the redstone dust in the middle row. Then place cobblestone across the entire bottom row. Crafts one Chime Marker.
