Cross Tracks are special rail pieces introduced in the Urban Update. They allow two rail lines to intersect within a single block space, letting trains cross in perpendicular or diagonal directions. Every rail material in the Add-On has its own Cross Track variant, so any style of track can intersect cleanly with another.

Functionality

Cross Tracks let trains pass through an intersection from two different directions. If two trains enter at the same moment, they will crash. These tracks support both grid aligned and diagonal layouts, making them suitable for complex rail junctions in cities, yards, and tram networks.

Interaction

Players place Cross Tracks like any other rail, in either straight or diagonal orientation. Trains follow their direction automatically. Because crashes are possible, signalling or careful timing is recommended when designing intersections.

Cross Tracks follow the same crafting pattern across all variants.

Place ingots, diamonds, or emeralds in the four corner slots, and fill the remaining slots with the appropriate tie material such as logs or stone based ties for that rail type. Crafts sixteen Cross Tracks for each rail variation. Embedded Cross Tracks uses a slightly different crafting mechanism.
