The Steam Engine is the most early game Generator in the Machines Add-on.
Obtaining
The Steam Engine is crafted in 3x3 grid by placing 4 Sturdy Frames in the corners, 1 Blast Furnace in the middle, 1 Copper Block in the bottom centre, and 3 Redstone Dust in the remaining slots.

usage
Power Production
The Steam Engine produces power by consuming coal and water. 2 item units of coal and 15 Milibuckets (mB) are used to produce 10 Power Units (p) per second.
A Pump is used alongside the Steam Engine to provide a continuous supply of water.
