The marine fuel refinery is the primary fuel processing block in the BOATS Add On. It converts various materials into refined Marine Fuel, which powers all engine based vessels. It is essential for running modern craft such as the fanboat, freighter, tanker, jetski, and all submersibles.

Functionality

The refinery accepts a wide range of items, each contributing a chance to increase its internal level. When the level becomes full, the refinery can produce Marine Fuel using a bucket or bottle. The full list of refinement chances is:

  • Rotten Flesh gives a 2% chance
  • Resin Clump gives a 4% chance
  • Bone Meal gives a 5% chance
  • Dried Kelp gives a 7% chance
  • Coal gives a 10% chance
  • Charcoal gives a 10% chance
  • Bone gives a 12% chance
  • Resin Block gives a 40% chance
  • Bone Block gives a 60% chance
  • Dried Kelp Block gives a 75% chance
  • Coal Block gives a 95% chance
  • Nautilus Shell gives a 100% chance

These items let you scale fuel production from early game scraps to high value materials for fast refining. When the refinery becomes full, interacting with it using an empty bucket or bottle produces Marine Fuel.

Interaction

Interact with the marine fuel refinery while holding any valid refinement item to add it to the machine. Each item increases the internal level until it becomes full. When full, interact with an empty bucket or bottle to collect refined Marine Fuel. You can place, break, and move the refinery freely, and it works well alongside the BOATS Fluid Tank for storing Marine Fuel long term.
