The Station Marker is an automation block in TRAINS. When placed directly beneath straight rails, it controls how trains stop at stations, allowing for timed halts, directional changes, and advanced station behaviour. The Urban Update transformed the block from a simple stop trigger into a complete station management tool. It functions similarly to the Horn Marker and Chime Marker.
Functionality
A Station Marker can be configured to stop the first engine, the last engine, either end of the train, or any engine that passes over it. The stop duration can be set to no stop, five seconds, ten seconds, twenty seconds, or one minute. The delay setting is shown visually on the top and side faces of the block.
A reverse option is available that flips the locomotive’s throttle after it departs the station. This takes effect immediately if no delay is selected.
An observer can detect when an engine arrives or leaves the station. If the Station Marker receives redstone power, any engine that reaches it will remain stopped indefinitely.
Trains with multiple engines that are not throttle-synchronized may overshoot the station. Using Speed Adjusters before the station can help slow the train for reliable stops and more realistic arrivals.
Interaction
Players can interact with the Station Marker to open its configuration menu. From here they can choose the trigger engine, select the stop duration, enable or disable reversing, and review the marker’s current settings. The block applies these settings instantly to any train that passes above it.

Crafting
Place iron ingots in the top left and top right with an observer in the top middle. Fill the entire middle row with redstone dust. Fill the entire bottom row with cobblestone. Crafts one Station Marker.

History
The Station Marker originally allowed trains to stop only when players clicked on it. The Urban Update introduced a full interface, timed stops, engine selection, reversal logic, visual delay indicators, and full automation support, elevating it into a key tool for managing modern stations.
